10 March 19 – Litter Picking the Lanes

Members of Transition Corsham were out on the Lanes between Corsham and Chippenham on 10th March, litter picking. Easton lane and the road from the Thingley crossroads at the A4 to Lacock have suffered in recent years from persistent littering. Easton Lane is currently closed to traffic due to the Hunters Moon development so its an ideal traffic free litter picking target. The other lanes have wide verges and are also safe to pick.

A total of 14 people were involved who collected at least 30 bags of rubbish including 120+ glass bottles, 350+ cans and numerous plastic bottles. Most of the glass, cans and plastic was transported by bike trailer to Sainburys recycling where is was disposed.

These lanes are also the victim of Fly-tipping. Unfortunately we could not do anything about that but we did inform the council.
