Forthcoming Transcoco events

Saturday 21st May 7.30pm – Jonny and the Baptists – the End is Nigh.  ‘Last year, Jonny accidentally told his four-year-old niece that climate change would end the world.  To stop her crying, he and Paddy promised to fix it.  They tried really hard…’ This musical comedy show about family, friendship and environmental disaster comes from the award wining stars of Radio 4’s The Now Show and looks like it could be great fun.  The Pound have agreed to offer a special ticket price of £10 (normally £12) to Transcoco members – just mention Transcoco when booking.
Thursday 2nd June – Community Energy: thriving against the odds.  We are delighted to have Pete Capener speaking on how the community energy sector is continuing to grow despite the best efforts of this government.  Pete will show why the sector (and BWCE in particular) has been successful and how it will develop in future.  Pete is the chair of Bath and West Community Energy and a leading light in the community energy sector, as director of Community Energy England, trustee of the Centre for Sustainable Energy, and, as member of the Ministerial Community Energy Contact Group, a key influencer on governmental policy.  He was awarded the MBE in 2015 for services to sustainable energy.  This talk will be at the Pound on 7.30pm on 2nd June.  PLEASE NOTE THIS REPLACES THE NORMAL MONTHLY OPEN MEETING ON 24TH MAY.
Friday 24th June, 11am – How to Change the World.  This documentary film, part of the Pound’s Blue Sky Festival, charts the development of Greenpeace and environmental activism.
Tuesday 28th June – Transcoco midsummer picnic.  Instead of our regular monthly meeting we thought it would be great to have an informal picnic in the community orchard (outside Corsham County Primary School) at 7.30pm (in the Pound if wet). Please bring along something to nibble and drink and let’s celebrate summer in the beautiful surroundings of the community orchard.
