Corsham Recycling Hub was set up in October 2021 with the aim of enabling residents to recycle typically hard-to-recycle packaging. It is located in the car park of the Springfield Community Campus and was launched with the help and support of Wiltshire Council, Corsham Town Council and the Martingate Co-op. It is entirely volunteer run and we currently have over 10 volunteers who help with opening and closing the Hub, emptying bins, sorting and boxing the recycling and transporting it to its onward destination.
Up until the end of December 2025, the Recycling Hub has raised £6,060.56 for charity and 8,264 large bin bags’ worth of waste has been recycled and kept out of landfill.
Packaging recycled at the Hub includes packaging from biscuits and cakes, make-up and skin care, bread bags and bakery products, Pringles and Ferrero Rocher. Also collected for recycling are spectacles and sunglasses, ink cartridges, other soft plastics and there’s even a bubble wrap swap bin! Please note, that we can no longer accept medicine blister packets or dental care packaging for recycling.
Many of our schemes raise money via Terracycle, a company that specialises in recycling hard-to-recycle waste, for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance.
Our organiser, Jane Roberton won the Green Award category at the BBC Radio Wiltshire Make a Difference Awards 2023 for her work setting up and running the Recycling Hub.
